Beyond: Two Souls PS4 Trophy Data Surfaces, Joins Long Line Of New-Gen Director's Cut Rumors

New Trophy Data For A PS4 Version Of Beyond: Two Souls Is Just Another Indication We're Getting A New-Gen Port

It seems that every couple of months, new information comes out that suggests a director's cut for Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls will be coming out for the PlayStation 4. We've been just about due for a new leak, and this week we finally got one.

Beyond: Two Souls Sold Over 1 Million Copies In 2013

This time, the new hint comes from achievement-tracking website Exophase. The website has listed the full trophy list for Beyond: Two Souls, a separate list from the game's PS3 listing. According to Polygon, Exophase pulls its information directly from PSN, which could make this leak one of the most definitive yet. Plus, if the data is in PSN already, it could also mean that the new-gen port will be coming sooner than we think.

Back in July, rumors of a director's cut for Beyond: Two Souls surfaced when IGN found that two German retailers had briefly listed an expanded version of the game for the PS4 on their websites. The leaks go back further still, though. In April, a NeoGAF poster uploaded pictures of the game's controls mapped to a DualShock 4 controller as well as a quote from some publication that explicitly refers to a director's cut of the narrative-heavy game.

Even Sony Doesn't Know Why The PS4 Has Sold So Well

The original Beyond: Two Souls came out back in October of last year as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. The player switches control between the supernaturally gifted Jodie and Aiden, the disembodied soul that resides in Jodie's mind. While gameplay with Jodie basically revolves around exploring the setting and making narrative decisions, the Aiden gameplay lets players go full Paranormal Activity on their surroundings – knocking over objects, smashing glass, and sending a chill through various NPCs. It was probably best known for having big-name Hollywood actors, Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, portray the main characters through extensive mo-cap and face-mapping work.
