New Sherlock Holmes Crimes And Punishments Disguise Trailer Teaches You The Fine Art Of Subversion [VIDEO]

Latest Sherlock Holmes: Crimes And Punishments Trailer Shows Off The Detectives Disguise Skills

The world's most adapted character is coming to consoles on September 30. In honor of the release Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, developer Frogwares is releasing several gameplay videos showcasing the various skills of England's greatest detective.

Sherlock Holmes Can Interrogate A Suspect Like The Best Of Em

In the new video, titled The Art of Subversion, Holmes dons a sailor's disguise to investigate a case. Though we may know him as lovable scamp Benedict Cumberbatch, who retains his Cumberbatchiness through the three seasons of BBC's Sherlock, it is important to remember that the only thing that equaled Sherlock's intelligence was his mastery of disguise. As you may recall, RDJ fooled damn near everyone at various points in the recent films.

The art of subversion and disguise will be a key element in solving the six mysteries presented in the game. Unlike RDJ, you won't be doing a lot of shooting or fighting, although Holmes was conceived as a noted brawler, as well.

Need An Xbox 360? They're Still Making Bundles Of Em!

The video sees Holmes transform himself from upper class gentlemen to an Irish sailor using an extensive customization process. Players will get to choose their outfits as befits the storyline and the current case. One imagines that he can even dress up as a woman, should the need arise.

Crimes & Punishments represents the first entry into Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes series that runs on the Unreal 3 Engine. The improved graphics also come with improved processing, which allows for a more robust experience. Per the press release: "From the opening of each of the six investigations up to the arrest of the culprits and the moral dilemmas faced by the players, the new game mechanics convey the feeling of BEING Sherlock Holmes. Players will therefore be able to exploit the incredible gifts and talents for which he is renowned, such as his ability to guess the details of an individual's life simply by observing them, or to imagine and reconstruct a past event by studying the key features of a crime scene."

I do hope that creepy Watson is around somewhere...

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments arrives on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC on September 30. Watch the trailer below.
