This fall is setting up to be a big turning point for the Assassin's Creed franchise. Ubisoft is releasing a farewell game for last-gen consoles, Assassin's Creed Rogue, while jumping into the new generation with Unity. Rogue is also serving to tie up the series of America-based games that had started with Assassin's Creed III. To give an appropriate send-off to this American storyline, Ubisoft announced a new collection of Assassin's Creed games, Birth of a New World – The American Saga, coming to European markets on October 3.

The collection includes copies of Assassin's Creed III, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and the Assassin's Creed Liberation HD console remake. The collection has been posted for preorder already on several different retail websites, listing prices ranging from £23.94 on shop4world.com to €39.99 on Amazon France.
According to Ubisoft, the collection will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. As it stands, the collection looks limited to the Eastern Hemisphere (it looks to be available from a New Zealand retailer as well), but there's no telling if the States will get a similar opportunity to purchase this patriotic package.

With Rogue developers stating that Shay Cormac's story will tie up the storylines of the Kenway family, this collection could be a great way to recap the events of the American trilogy ahead of Rogue's November release. For those who might have eased off the series following the departure of Ezio Auditore, The American Saga is a fine way to get introduced to the lives of Ratonhnhaké:ton, Aveline de Grandpré and Edward Kenway as they shape North America across decades.
