Need 20 Grand, Play Hearthstone And Like To Travel? Viagame Is Hosting A Tournament Just For You

Do you fancy yourself an elite level Hearthstone player? Do you live or have you ever wanted to travel to Stockholm, Sweden? Could you really use an extra $20,000? If you answered yes to at least one of those questions, Viagame, the Swedish eSport company, wants you.

"With the success of the Viagame Hearthstone Championship at DreamHack Summer in June with more than 55 000 peak concurrent viewers, Viagame are eager to meet the Hearthstone players and community again, this time with a new tournament format." The company will provide travel, food and accommodation for all players who make the cut for the tournament taking place from October 10 to 12.

Eight professional players and eight more players who make the grade via online qualifiers will be invited to participate in the weekend-long digital Thunderdome.  There will be two qualifiers on September 13-14 and September 20-21 where the top 256 players will be determined by ladder ranking and achievements. Detailed information about qualifiers, rules and showmatches will be posted during this week. Keep checking in with Viagame for more details about rules during the week.

Second Hearthstone Expansion Will Introduce 100 New Cards

The finals will be broadcast live around the world, in English and Viagame boldly proclaims that it will be unlike any other Hearthstone tournament you've witnessed and will feature an all new format for how competitions go down. One hopes that it is something similar to Real Space Invaders and all of your actions can affect the very real lives of the creatures you summon. One can hope, at least.

"Hearthstone is one of the fastest growing eSports and we're happy to have 16 of the best players duke it out here in Stockholm. Our latest tournament in June was a huge success and now it's time to further develop competitive Hearthstone with a new competition format." Says Simon Sundén, Content Manager at Viagame.

$20,000 is not an insignificant number. While the champion won't walk away with all of it, he or she can certainly collect big. Stay tuned for more.
