Watch Dogs Wii U Release Date Finally Confirmed: Coming November, Uses GamePad For Interactive Map

Watch Dogs Is Finally Coming To Wii U, Finally

At this point, have you forgotten that Watch Dogs exists? Well it does, and the hit title is finally coming to Nintendo's Wii U with some brand new features that take advantage of the hardware.

Watch Dogs: A Polished And Refined Next-Gen Hack Of Grand Theft Auto?

Ubisoft confirmed today that Watch Dogs will be coming to the Wii U on November 18 in North America, and November 20 in the rest of the world.

The game was first released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC back in May, and has seen a few DLC releases since its release, with more on the way. This version will offer Off-TV Play and an interactive map on your Nintendo Wii U GamePad that will certainly make it easier to navigate the city, although it likely won't make those awful drinking games any easier.

It's remarkable how a game that was such a massive success for Ubisoft (it became their biggest-selling title ever on day one) is pretty much forgotten, just a scant few months later. Perhaps it was all the hype leading to the game's release, where gamers were promised an open world you could hack at will and were given a shallow GTA clone with a bare-bones plot. The few shining moments were few and far between, sadly, and the game is ultimately the kind that falls apart the more you pick at it.

The Wii U version was delayed a few months before release and never given an official release date before now, stating that it needed the team members working on the Wii U version to work on other projects in the time being.

Wii U owners- are you happy to have another triple-A title to look forward to, or have you resigned yourself to only relying on top-notch first-party titles?
