NYCC News: Marvel Announces Daredevil Cast Panel To Promote Upcoming Netflix TV Series; SHIELD And SMASH Premieres And More

Going To NYCC? Marvel Wants You To Come See The Cast Of Daredevil Live On Stage

San Diego may have the nicer weather, but New York is where you can find all your favorite superheroes. Marvel today announced several of their upcoming panels for New York Comic Con, including the first ever cast panel of the new Daredevil series.

The cast of the Netflix exclusive series will be gathered with showrunner Steve DeKnight to talk about the upcoming show on Saturday, October 11 at 5:45 p.m. The Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox, will be in attendance along with other cast members to discuss, banter and hopefully: premiere some new footage.

It seems only fitting that Marvel debut the first of its Defenders line of new shows in New York. Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, patrols the (once) mean streets of Hells Kitchen (now Midtown West). Additionally, Marvel is developing Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist for an eventual crossover event. The four characters form the Defenders, who take on the low level, less cosmic, day to day shenanigans of such bad guys as Kingpin.

Captain America 3 Will Radically Alter The MCU

On Friday October 10, Marvel will give attendees a first look at the upcoming second season of Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. and then follow it with a full preview of an upcoming Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D episode, with a panel hosted by Jeph Loeb. Comic Con is clearly about to E.X.P.L.O.D.E.

"New York Comic Con shines a spotlight across pop culture and we're excited this year for a great many things, but there's a special place in the show for pop culture made right here in New York City," said Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP. "We're honored by Marvel Television's overall commitment and humbled to play host to the cast of Marvel"s Daredevil. This is an important day for New York Comic Con and New York City."

The new series should be a million times better more accomplished than the original film, which only gave the world one positive thing: Amy Lee.

GameNGuide will be there at the New York Comic Con from October 9 through 12, covering all the events. Stay tuned for more from Marvel in the coming weeks!
