The iPhone 6 officially drops this Friday, and Apple users everywhere are looking to upgrade to the latest smartphone technology the company has to offer. Fortunately for current iPhone owners, several trade-in programs will buy back your old iPhone 5 or 5s for enough to completely pay for a new iPhone 6, sometimes even the 6 Plus. Here are five programs that will purchase your old iPhones for the cost of a new iPhone 6 ($199 on contract) or iPhone 6 Plus ($299 on contract). Note that these offers are for phones that show no damage past normal wear and tear, turn on and off without trouble and have Find My iPhone disabled.

Apple
Yes, Apple itself has set up a trade-in site where old iPhone models can be turned into an Apple Store gift card. Using Apple's online estimate form (you can get an offer for your own device here), any iPhone 5 is worth enough for a brand-new iPhone 6. iPhone 5s owners who trade in can spring for an iPhone 6 Plus or just the 64 GB version of the iPhone 6. Of course, these offers are just estimates that will likely change once your phone is evaluated, but it's a place to start.

At the popular electronics reseller, iPhone 5 users are out of luck, as an unlocked 64 GB phone is worth only $175 per their online quote form. An iPhone 5s from any of the four major carriers will net you enough for an iPhone 6, however. Getting the money for a new iPhone 6 Plus from Gazelle requires an unlocked 64 GB iPhone 5s.
Best Buy
Through Best Buy's trade-in program, any version of iPhone 5 with a major carrier is worth enough for a new iPhone 6. A 16 GB iPhone 5s is only worth a new 6 Plus if it's with AT&T, but any larger model should fetch that $300 fairly easily.
AT&T
Using AT&T's regular trade-in program, it looks like only an iPhone 5s is worth a new iPhone 6, with a 64 GB version worth a new 6 Plus. In honor of the new phone launch, though, it looks like AT&T is also offering a new promotion that gives a $300 AT&T gift card for any iPhone 5s trade-in with a $200 gift card available for any earlier models, even down to the iPhone 4. So if you completely missed the iPhone 5 generation, you can still get a free new iPhone 6 through AT&T. The promotion only lasts through the end of September, though, so get a move on if this offer looks enticing.
Verizon
Verizon's special trade-in promotion is almost identical to AT&T's. Any iPhone model back to the iPhone 4 is worth $200 when put toward a new iPhone 6. An iPhone 5s will reach $300 in this offer, making it worth enough for an iPhone 6 Plus or just the 64 GB iPhone 6. Like AT&T's offer, this promotion will disappear at the end of the month.
