Bioshock And Fallout Vets Team Up For New Light-Based Mobile Puzzle Game Light In The Dark

Light In The Dark Is A New Indie Puzzle Game Made By Former AAA Developers

Light in the Dark is a new mobile puzzle game made by industry veterans whose credits include X-Com, Fallout and BioShock, and it's now available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.

One Of The New Monument Valley Levels Now Has Art Attached

The puzzles in Light in the Dark revolve around light and color. The player moves Totems around the stages, and each Totem radiates a different color of light. Buttons can be activated shining on them with correct light, and the puzzle ends when all of the level's baby Totems are bathed in the correct color of light.

Where it gets tricky is that, though there are three different colors of Totems, baby Totems can come in seven different colors. This means that, to get through the later levels, players will have to mix the colors of different Totems' lights. Levels can also contain collections of movable boxes and rotatable mirrors to help block light (you don't want to wake up sleeping enemies) or to bounce it somewhere else.

Dreamgate Studios, the developer behind Light in the Dark is made up of industry veterans and based out of Australia.

"The experience we gained working on X-Com, BioShock and Fallout gave us the technical lessons needed to make amazing games," Dreamgate CEO David De Margheriti wrote on the game's website. "We could focus on developing a title that offered a range of play and interesting elements for everyone."

The game contains levels simple enough for children as well as more complex stages for puzzle-loving adults. Dreamgate also plans to update the game with new levels in the future.

Light in the Dark is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices for $1.99.
