The Skylanders juggernaut doesn't seem like it'll be slowing down in the near future. The Trap Team expansion is set to roll out this fall, and the 3DS version is coming packed with unique characters and features all of its own.
Legendary Skylanders Trap Team Toys Available For Preorder
The Skylanders Trap Team Nintendo 3DS Starter Pack comes with two Skylanders figures that can only be found in this game pack. Gusto is a Trap Master – a new class of character being introduced in Trap Team – who fights off enemies with his gigantic boomerang. Barkley, the second figure, is much less imposing. Barkley is the Mini version of Tree Rex, one of the eight Giants from Skylanders Giants.
The 3DS game also comes with several platform-exclusive villains, and it allows you to interact with them using the handheld's touch screen. The big new feature of the Trap Team expansion is the ability to draw enemies into the Traptanium Vault until you call upon them later. With the 3DS, though, players can use the touch screen to poke and prod the villains, letting them add just one more layer to their victory over the villains.
Skylanders Trap Team 'Dark Edition' Starter Pack Announced
The Skylanders Trap Team Nintendo 3DS Starter Pack comes with a copy of the game, the two aforementioned figures and a new portal so new players can get their figures into the game. Trap Team is completely backwards compatible with all previous Skylanders toys, so your original Spyro can still play alongside your new Gusto.
The starter pack will drop for 3DS systems on October 5 for $64.99.
