The popular FPS horror franchise F.E.A.R (First Encounter Assault Recon, or False Evidence Appearing Real if you're Gary Busey) is truly going global. Aeria Games today announced that the new F2P title F.E.A.R Online will be hitting Steam for PC on October 17.

The four-player co-op game has you once again investigating the strange and supernatural. "In F.E.A.R. Online, tensions reach a boiling point as the F.E.A.R. task force investigates Armacham Technology Corporation's unsettling experiments.With several team combat modes spanning more than ten ominous maps, the game is packed with chilling details.The storyline continues in cooperative scenarios that detail the terrifying occurrences surrounding the F.E.A.R. team, in parallel to the events of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin."
The game went into a closed beta earlier this year and the comments and criticisms from the beta players were taken into consideration from Aeria. The upcoming full version will feature "new maps, a new scenario, and a redesigned crafting system which allows for making one-of-a-kind weapons, F.E.A.R. Online will deliver what fans have been asking for." Certainly, someone has.
