iOS 8.1 Update Enters Second Beta, Should Add Apple Pay And Fix iPhone Bluetooth Problems Upon Release

The iOS 8.1 Update Should Be Coming Soon, Hopefully Bringing Apple Pay With It

The second beta version of the iOS 8.1 update was released to registered developers yesterday, and more proof is being found that this update will be the one that adds Apple's cardless payment service Apple Pay for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

It's Not Just About iOS 8.1; Apple's Got Three Major iOS 8 Updates In The Works

Not long after the second beta went live, developer Hamza Sood found more screens of the Apple Pay service, MacRumors reported. The screens show a credit card input screen as well as how Apple Pay options will be integrated with services like Passbook. According to MacRumors, the 8.1 update will also include a fix for Bluetooth issues that have been preventing people from pairing their iPhones with their car.

iOS 8.1 will also reportedly patch an exploit that had allowed classic video game fans to run less-than-legal emulators on their iOS devices without jailbreaking by simply setting back the date on the device.

Apple's Health App Is Already Looking Out For Your Health, Whether You Know It Or Not

Apple Pay was one of the main announcements back at the iPhone 6 reveal. With the service, Apple users can save their credit card information in their phone, information that is then locked with Apple's Touch ID technology, then pay for purchases at participating retailers just by pressing their Home button. This service is set to release this month and will work with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and the upcoming Apple Watch.

iOS 8 hasn't exactly had a smooth launch. A few frustrating yet manageable bugs in the original release were made even worse by the botched iOS 8.0.1 patch, which broke cell service and Touch ID functionality on new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices. The iOS 8.0.2 update fixed these issues and some of the more prominent bugs in the original release that stopped new HealthKit apps from appearing in the App Store. Apple still hasn't addressed some of the earliest complaints about the recent mobile operating system, though, including Wi-Fi troubles and decreased battery life.
