Crytek's main advertising point for this new port is the addition of 4K graphics. Anyone lucky enough to be sporting a 4K computer display – or who have a 4K TV and a high-speed HDMI cable – can now get the cinematic Ryse experience produced in the current top standard in the industry. Crytek also released a 4K trailer on YouTube, if you're interested in getting a quick taste of the kind of sword-and-board action the game provides in glorious high definition.

The trailer also throws in a quick reference to Crytek's other game Crysis with a special futuristic armor that your gladiator can put on.

The PC version of the game will come with a collection of bonus content that had originally been part of several DLC packs for the Xbox One version. The bonus content includes a collection of multiplayer maps, a Survival game mode and five player skins.

In Ryse: Son of Rome, the player takes on the role of Marius Titus, a Roman general with revenge on his mind. The game features a quicktime event mechanic and includes Kinect voice commands on Xbox One, a feature that was either dropped out of the PC version or is simply implemented in another way. At its release, Ryse was acknowledged as being cinematic in its presentation, but it was criticized for underdeveloped gameplay.

Ryse: Son of Rome is available now for Xbox One and PC.
