If you've never read Powers, you're missing out. It starts off following two homicide detectives Christian Walker (played in the show by Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) who deal with murders committed by people with powers. It looks like the first season will follow the plot of the first trade paperback, which concerns the death of Retro Girl, a famed superhero previously thought to be invulnerable.

They live in a world where superheroes exist but are very restricted by law enforcement The twist is that Walker used to be a "Powers" himself- he was a famous superhero back in the day but somehow lost his powers, and has a connection to Retro Girl himself.

The comic is incredible and really made a name for Bendis and Oeming, and a TV show seems to be the perfect way to adapt it. The footage shows that they've done a good job of representing these characters, too.

As previously announced, the first season of Powers will be free for Playstation Plus members, and they'll be able to obtain exclusive behind-the-scenes footage as well. Anyone will be able to see the Episode 1 of the show for free, regardless of if they own a PlayStation or not.
