Lego Jurassic World: Next Movie In Jurassic Park Franchise Confirmed For Lego Sets Hitting Stores Next Spring

Jurassic Park Is Coming Back To Legos With The Upcoming Jurassic World Sets

It's been spoken about in murmurs and leaks, but now the upcoming Lego sets for 2015's Jurassic World have been confirmed.

Lego Batman 3 Comes To NYCC With New Characters

The announcement (found courtesy CNET) states that Lego sets depicting this next entry in the Jurassic Park franchise will be hitting store shelves in May, a month before the movie itself stomps into theaters and brings one of the best known dinosaur series back into the spotlight for the first time since 2001.

The Lego sets for Jurassic World were first rumored in a couple of leaks some months ago. A leaked memo from Toys R Us mentioned that the movie would be marketed through a line of Lego kits. Chris Pratt, the film's lead, also let slip that he had approved his third incarnation as a Lego minifig when the company showed him the model for his character, Owen. Previously, Pratt had been turned into a Lego thanks to his roles in The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here Are The Original Leaks For Lego Jurassic World

That same Toys R Us leak also mentioned that a Lego Jurassic World video game would also be in the works, which spurred some preemptive excitement. Developer Traveller's Tales is consistently putting out quality games for the Lego property, and the chance to run around as a Lego velociraptor was understandably intriguing for many people. Unfortunately, this announcement only confirms the physical toy sets, but now that we know that those exist, the prospect of an upcoming video game is that much more believable.

Jurassic World will be hitting theaters June 12.
