Halo Combat Evolved Video From The Master Chief Collection Shows Off 1080p, 60 Frames Per Second Upgrade

Halo: Combat Evolved will be the beneficiary of some graphical enhancements in The Master Chief Collection, and a new video shows off with the game will look like in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Super Smash Bros 3DS Tournament Winner Crowned

IGN posted an exclusive video consisting of campaign footage and clips from the multiplayer maps familiar to millions of console owners. The game is running at an almost eerily-smooth 60fps, and the new resolution results in a remastering quite a bit more clear than the original.

And man, how good is that theme song? The iconic music plays over the video, and the combination will no doubt bring back countless memories. The sharpness is odd at first, and in some ways points out how dated the game is, but that's to be expected for a 13 year old game--the high-res PC version of Halo: Combat Evolved has the same effect.

Destiny Hotfix Finally Nerfs Auto Rifle

The other games in The Master Chief Collection  are getting upgrades as well, most notably Halo 2. The anniversary edition of the second game in the series comes with a whole new graphics engine, though the original will be left in and can be switched to at any time.

As much as I could go on describing the HD Halo: CE footage, there's no substitute for watching it yourself--check out the video below.
