Nintendo eShop And Virtual Console Update: Castlevania Harmony Of Dissonance, Lone Survivor Director's Cut, Trine 2 And A Whole Lot More This Week

Another week, another Thursday. That can mean only one thing: it is time for the Nintendo eShop update!

Mario Kart 8 Linkcycle! New Zelda DLC Art

While this week lacks for a major release that rhymes with Mash Mothers or Byrule Sorriers, if you perhaps have finished those games and are in need of a little palate cleanser, the week's offerings should provide just that.

The big Wii U Virtual Console of the week is Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, which continues Nintendo's month of Castlevania releases (which should absolutely be called CastleMANIA). The 2002 Game Boy Advance title has a tumultuous legacy, with critics and fans split evenly down the middle. But why not try it out yourself? Assume the role of Juste Belmont and once again take on the minions of the night. Simple? Yes, but it's Castlevania and we're coming up on Halloween. $7.99!

Talk To The Hand In Super Smash Bros Wii U

This week also brings several new titles to the Wii U eShop:

Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut - not to be confused with the Marky Mark movie of the same name, this one is all about navigating a city infested with a zombie plague. Your choices matter as you hope to escape unharmed, but how you get out may matter more than 'if' you get out. This extended edition of Jasper Byrne's horror masterpiece expands Lone Survivor's deep story with hundreds of tiny new details, more locations, more dialogue, more side quests, more craftable items, and even two completely new endings

Ballpoint Universe: Infinite - a game crafted to resemble ballpoint pen drawings, this platform shooter puts you through 16 different levels of your finest high school algebra doodles. Endless customization options available for your 'Ink Ship'. Sure looks nice.

Paper Monsters Recut - from ballpoint to paper, this 3D platformer harkens back to the days of yore, when sidescrollers were king. Cardboard, paper and cotton balls come to life in this entertaining mix of styles. For any fan of the genre. And yes, it is off-screen compatible on the Wii U GamePad.

A whole bunch of sales are happening for both Wii U and 3DS. Get em early, get em often!

SteamWorld Dig is more than 30 percent off for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS until 8:59 a.m. PT on Oct. 30.
Squids Odyssey is more than 60 percent off for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS until 8:59 a.m. PT on Oct. 30.

Master Reboot - a curious exploration title in which one's soul is now fully uploadable. Atmospheric and slightly terrifying, if the stills are to be believed. The Wii U title is currently priced at $14.99, but will be on sale beginning October 22 until November 2.

Shut The Box - a game of chance is now on sale for $.69 until November 13 for the Wii U.

Now on sale for $9.99 until November 3 for the Wii U.

Snow Moto Racing 3D is on for $5.99 for the 3DS. Because they haven't released SSX onto Nintendo's handheld yet!

PING 1.5+ - play as cube attempting to take on those sideless heathens: the circles! $4.99 (Wii U eShop)
