Return Of The Obra Dinn Demo Released: Play An Early Build Of The Next Game From Papers, Please Developer Lucas Pope

A playable demo is available for Return of the Obra Dinn, the next project from Papers, Please developer Lucas Pope.

Halo Nightfall Trailer Released

Return of the Obra Dinn, announced several months ago, is available on Pope's site in the form of a (very) early build for both Windows and Mac OS.

Pope notes that progress is not saved, there isn't much content in the game right now, and the build has not been tested. As such, he welcomes comments and suggestions on the Return of the Obra Dinn as it stands.

Magic 2015 Expansion Release Date Announced

The game will take place in 1808 on an East India Company trading ship named Obra Dinn, thought to have been lost at sea when it set sail in 1802. After mysteriously drifting into port with no crew six years later, it's up to the player as an insurance adjustor for the company to board the ship and recover the captain's logbook. The graphics, as you can see, are very simple, 1-bit renderings.

Papers, Please was an indie sensation, drawing acclaim and numerous awards for its unique game mechanics--you play as an immigration officer denying or giving people entry into your country based on the information provided, which may or may not be valid. Pope expressed that Return of the Obra Dinn won't be similar to his well-known work, but the game will certainly stay in the public's eye as it develops based on Pope's past success.
