Super Smash Bros For Wii U Release Date Changed In Europe, Get Your Brawl On A Week Earlier

European Nintendo fans celebrate: the release date for Super Smash Bros for Wii U was just pushed forward a week.

Originally set to launch on December 5, the title is now hitting the region on November 28, according to a Nintendo of Europe tweet. This change brings the title to fans a week sooner, as well as a week close to the November 21 North American release date.

To coincide with the change, Nintendo has also moved the release date for the Amiibo figures and Gamecube controller to match the new U.K. and Europe launch day. If you've missed that news, Gamecube controllers--generally believed to be the best way to play the series--are being sold new with an adapter to make them compatible with the Wii U. The controller and adapter are being offered on their own, and as a bundle with the game.

The Skylander-style Amiibo figures integrate with the Wii U's gamepad to bring the characters to life in the game, where they can be customized and upgraded. For more information on how that process will work, see Nintendo's Amiibo page.

The first wave of Amiibo characters will be Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Peach, Marth, Yoshi, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer. Each figure will cost $12.99, and are available for pre-order. The next wave of figures will launch some time in December. Amiibo figures aren't just compatible with Super Smash Bros: Mario Party 10 and Yoshi's Woolly World will use the figures, and support for Mario Kart 8 will be added in the future. Link's Amiibo statue will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors.
