Spider-Man Leads The Charge On Marvel's New Kid-Friendly Website With New Activities, Games And Videos
Marvel is working on reaching out even more to its younger audience, and one of the ways it's doing that is through the reworked MarvelKids.com. The website is ready to engage the newest generation of Marvel fans with some new content featuring one of Marvel's most ubiquitous mascots: Spider-Man.
The new MarvelKids.com includes a collection of games starring the well-known webslinger himself, all of which let kids take control of one of Spider-Man's defining abilities. On the dedicated Spider-Man page, kids can face off against Spider-Man's enemies in the Web Shooter game, race to the top of a building in the Wall Crawler game and avoid aerial obstacles while flying across the screen in the Web-Slinger game.
The site offers access to a couple of fun distractions and activities, such as coloring pages, word searches and other pencil-and-paper games. Also available is the new Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Friends and Foes Character Guide, a 20-page guide to everything you need to know about Spider-Man's popular cartoon over on Disney XD.
Speaking of the cartoon, MarvelKids also features a collection of clips from all of the Marvel superhero cartoons popping up on Disney's networks.
"Kids and digital go hand in hand, so we created a new online experience exclusively for kids that allows them to engage with the Marvel heroes they love and even be a hero themselves through the games," said Kristin Vincent, Marvel’s VP of digital products, in a release. "We'll keep rolling out new games, videos and other content so kids can have fun online with Spider-Man and soon with the Avengers while in a kid-safe digital environment."
MarvelKids.com is planning on expanding its content over the next few months with material featuring other popular capes like Captain America, Thor and Black Widow.
