Football Manager 2015 Editor Will Be Offered Again This Year, Allows Fans To Change Player Attributes Mid-Game

The news keeps on coming for Football Manager 2015 ahead of its full release at the end of the week as the developers reveal details on the game's editor.

Football Manager 2015 Beta's Best Features: Our 4 Favorite Changes And Additions

The first in-game editor in Football Manager 2014 was a big hit, and the team at Sports Interactive decided to offer it again this year with even more features. A blog post explains the changes, which include more editing options of course, and the price will remain at $5.50. The news follows today's beta patch, which adds a lot of fixes to the current build.

The out-of-game editor is free, but only allows you to alter the database used to start a file--you can't change stats or attributes with it once you begin a save. The in-game editor allows you to access the database currently in play and alter stats and hidden attributes of real or generated players and club info.

Football Manager 2015 Beta Impressions: Is Different Better?

"With Football Manager 2014 we took the plunge and released our first official in-game editor - it had been something I'd always been against as personally I'm a purist and want people to play the game "properly". But who am I to stop people "accelerating their progress" should they want to? Or to "fix" data errors to ensure that their favorite player is now massively over-rated?

"It did very well. More than well enough for us to not only make another one, but also add in loads of things that you, the people who use it for whatever reason (definitely not cheating - oh no, no one would do that), have asked for."

The new additions include the ability to edit contract types, rivalries and favored personnel (for players and club), and freeze player attributes. You can also change transfer staff, generic kits, player height or weight, player appearance, and changing nationalities is now easier. The editor will be available with the full game at launch for the extra cost of $5.50. The competition and data editor will remain free, and can be found in your Steam tools.
