Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Lag Patch Live For PC And PS4, Xbox One And PS4 Versions Getting Multiple Patches This Week

A Patch Is Rolling Out For Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare, With At Least Two Set To Hit Next-Gen Consoles This Week

This weekend, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer Games announced an in-progress patch for its new game that would, hopefully, take care of the lag problem players were frequently encountering, among other fixes and additions. Now, it looks like that patch has begun to roll out across platforms.

The Witcher 3 Will Be Handing Out 16 Pieces Of Free DLC

According to a developer post on the Call of Duty community forums (thanks, GameSpot), the patch has begun to roll out for PC and PS4 players. Players who have the Xbox One game can look forward to the patch within the next 48 hours, with yet another patch coming to both next-gen consoles within the week. The post makes no mention of when the patch will hit last-gen consoles, but seeing that the wording mentions patches this week for "all platforms," they shouldn't be too far behind.

The patch introduces a handful of bug fixes and optimizations that all big-budget releases end up needing within the first week. Perhaps the most asked-for optimizations are those relating to server connectivity. These are included in the patch notes (found in full here), and hopefully they will start to alleviate the lag issues many users are reporting.

The patch also includes a number of community-requested changes and additions. Among these are changes to the in-game chat design, an added ability to select eSport Rules in private matches and an increase in the maximum score possible during a match of Kill Confirmed. If you found yourself collecting too many enemy dog tags for the system to handle, rest assured that the max score has been upped to 85.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been out for a little more than a week now. It's available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
