Bloodborne just got out of an alpha test, where plenty of feedback no doubt inspired developers to take a little more time with the game. News of the delay was announced on the PlayStation blog, where a producer from SCE Japan noted the change in schedule.

"While development continues unabated, we would like our team to deliver the best possible final experience," the post reads. "We were gratified by the feedback and data we received from those who participated in our limited Alpha test. The extra production time will also allow us to better integrate these learnings."

Bloodborne possesses the same kind of dark and brooding aesthetic that Dark Souls is famous for, but this action RPG focuses more on agility, fast combat and facing off against multiple opponents at a time. The game is set in the city of Yharnam, a location filled with gorgeous Gothic architecture and terrible monsters to slay. The player has several weapons with which he can defend himself. A melee axe is his primary means of fighting through enemies, though he also has weapons like a shotgun for medium-range combat and various consumables, such as Molotov cocktails.

Bloodborne will release for the PlayStation 4 on March 24.
