Crytek's 'Crysis 3' Skips Nintendo Wii U with 2013 Release
Game company Crytek disclosed that a Wii U release of its Crysis 3 video game is highly unlikely.
According to the company's Development Director Rasmus Højengaard , the game may only be launched on other platforms other than Nintendo.
"I don't think it's possible. Right now the launch platforms are PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. I don't think it's on the cards to do a Wii U version," said Højengaard in an interview with Destructoid.
"I would say that our game is less reliant on technical capabilities this time around because of the setting," added Højengaard.
With Wii U probability not in the cards, fans would have to wait for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC version of the game to be launched in spring 2013. The game is powered by the proprietary cutting edge CryENGINE technology.
"Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love," said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek.
Players take on the role of 'Prophet' as he returns to New York, only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet. The game is set in 2047 and Alcatraz is said to be on a "revenge mission" after uncovering the truth behind Cell's motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes.
The Crysis 3 Hunter Edition gives players the tools to become the ultimate hunter in multiplayer with early access to the new signature bow and its attachments. The Hunter Nanosuit module will add additional power and functionality to the super-suit.
The game's adaptive warfare is for fans who are ready for the most advanced piece of military hardware humanity has ever devised. Players will get training against an entire city of enemies and hostile terrain.
Once Crysis 3 is released, it's a game where players will have to adapt or die.
