'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' Release Date, New Guns, Multiplayer Modes Leaked

Video game publisher Activision has released a teaser of Call of Duty's newest  game in the series.

The game is likely to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, a sequel to the Black Ops, and it is hinted by a poster of the game sent in by an IGN reader. The poster, which has come out on Target's pre-order card, shows November 13, 2012 as the release date.   Fans can also tune in to see a commercial during the NBA Playoffs on TNT on May 1.

According to the image revealed, the game will be available for platforms on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Players can get ready for another first person shooter as they look out for their enemies in the game. 'The enemy could be anywhere and it could be anyone,' was the teaser's tag released by the publisher.  Black Ops 2 will be the ninth instalment in the Call of Duty franchise.  The latest game will have a bigger emphasis on multiplayer and employs a Quadrator drone element to enhance gameplay.  Its futuristic setting will employ the latest weapons and artillery, matching it to the overall format of the story.

With the new series of the game in the pipeline, players should expect full action and lots of custom artillery firepower.  Guns are expected to be rendered with more detail and certain weapons, such as the rifles, will need less effort in aiming.

Other notable weapons available in the game include Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Light Machine Guns, Pistols, and Explosives.

According to forum postings from PSPKing, several game modes will allow players to choose from "Escort, Split Spawn, or Equalizer."  Gamers can choose to escort a player safely through three flags without getting him killed.  They can also utilize a helicopter and co-op to capture the flag in "Split Spawn" mode.  Or players can swap to enemy teams and utilize juggernaut suits from granted power plants while competing for the flag in "Equalizer mode."

Call of Duty: Black Ops, which came out in November 2010, is one of the biggest action series to hit the video game industry.  It is considered to be one of the most played and most bought by gamers.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops is currently the most successful instalment in the Call of Duty franchise with Treyarch's shooter selling more than 25 million copies on consoles. It's also the best-selling game of all time within the United States," reports CinemaBlend.com.

Fans will be looking to learn more about the details of the game and what it has in store for those eagerly anticipating the release; we will have to wait  until May 1.

No official mention of dates, but fans can likely expect Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to hit stores November 13 and available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
