'Max Payne 3' Bullet Time vs. 'Assassin's Creed 3' Predatory Gameplay

Developers "Rockstar Games" is back with another soon to be blockbuster, Max Payne 3 which will rival Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 3 as possibly the two highest anticipated titles of the year.

Max Payne 3 comes with cutting-edge gameplay, powerful arsenal of weaponry, and an epic single-player story. It will be the first in the series to introduce an explosive and innovative Max Payne multiplayer experience.

"Essential, and Rockstar's Boldest Move in Years," posted gaming website "Kotaku" about Max Payne 3 Multiplayer.

The game will showcase its signature "Shoot-dodge" and "Bullet Time" features along with a range of new and expanded special abilities into the arena of competitive online multiplayer. Players can gain experience points by playing and use them towards obtaining new guns, items, and abilities.  One of these abilities are called Bursts, where players can increase the adrenaline meter with every kill.  Players can activate their Bullet Time Bursts when they've reached certain levels on the meter.

Max Payne 3's multiplayer facility has also been enabled to alter maps and mode progression for all players in a match. Max Payne 3 will provide devastating firepower within his wide range of high-powered weaponry which are available in both single player and multiplayer.

Assassin's Creed 3 challenges players during the American Revolution where they control a new assassin during the American Revolutionary War. Players set out to conquer missions with predatory gameplay and uncovering more about the game's protagonist Connor in the single player story campaign.

Ubisoft utilized a new game engine along with reworking combat mechanics for a balanced combination of action with stealth.  Words to best describe the gameplay is simultaneous and free-flowing.  Connor is equipped with dual tomahawk and bow weapons which he can both use at the same time.  Doing so will allow smooth flowing kills and assassinations as Connor can slay a line of redcoat soldiers before leaping to axe their lead commander in one fluid motion.

"Rebuilding the combat system allowed us to bring in new weapons like the bow, and try to make it more fluid than ever," explains Creative director Alex Hutchinson in an interview with Ausgamers.  "Connor can perform what we call running assassinations, where he can assassinate people in full sprint without losing speed."

In addition to enhanced gameplay, Ubisoft focused on creating more realistic environments and crowd artificial intelligence.

"The biggest additions have been to allow crowd member to be attracted to areas or interactions, and then to leave those and begin another action in sequence," said Hutchinson. "No longer will you be able to watch people stay in a conversation for hours. Eventually they'll go on their way."

As Connor travels through mountain terrain, dense snow covered forests, and rivers, he may also choose to do some hunting.  The game allow players to utilize the same stealth and attack tactics on hunting animals.  Doing it skillfully will earn rewards such as invitations to secret maps, side challenges, and membership to the Hunting Club.

Assassin's Creed 3 is the fifth major instalment in the Assassin's Creed franchise. The game is set for release on October 30 and will be available for Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

Max Payne 3 will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 on May 15, with the PC version launching on May 29.
