Amazing Spider-Man: Lizards, Web Slinging, Mystery Shroud Latest Trailer

The latest trailer of The Amazing Spider Man reveals Spidey's latest foe Dr. Curt Connors played by Rhys Ifans in his genetically altered Lizard form.

The 2 minute and 30 second trailer showcased the movie villain, the Lizard, as a scaly monster face with prosthetic arms who is apparently trying to make humans become a planet of super-reptiles. The trailer also starts with the city of New York attacked with green gas released by the Lizard.

"More intriguing is the shadowy figure demanding to know if Connors told Peter about his father. Who is this raspy-voiced character? Is it Oscorp head Norman Osborn, a.k.a. Green Goblin? The DNA-obsessed Dr. Miles Warren, a.k.a. the Jackal? Someone new?" writes Entertainment Weekly.

Flashbacks show Peter Parker as a child watching his father working and erasing the words 'Delivery Agent: Arachnid Genome' from a blackboard.

In the trailer, Spidey also rescues a car from a bridge which is collapsing with his web that goes through the skyscrapers as he is battled with a knife. We also get glimpses of web swinging action as Spiderman equips himself with new red-light gadgets that shoots out webbings.  This contrasts with past Spiderman films that saw Peter Parker releasing web strings through his arm, sans the assistance of any device.

The Amazing Spider-Man hit theatres on July 3rd, 2012. Directed by Marc Webb, tells the story of Peter Parker played by Andrew Garfield who was abandoned by his parents, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben played by Martin Sheen and Aunt May played by Sally Field.

Peter tries to discover who he is while falling for his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone. Peter also discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father which begins his investigation into his parents' disappearance leading him to Oscorp and Dr. Curt Connors.  As Spider-Man meets Connors' The Lizard, Peter makes life-altering choices as he uses his superhuman powers to shape his destiny as a hero.
