World Of Warcraft Updated Blood Elf Character Models Revealed; A Finer, Smoother Side Of The Horde

Check Out The New Blood Elf Character Models For Warlords Of Draenor

Warlords of Dreanor, the fifth expansion for World of Warcraft, has brought about a massive amount of changes to the world's most popular MMO. People are flocking back to Azeroth and enjoying their time greatly.

Part of the reason for the rediscovered enjoyment are the updated character models. The various races throughout the game have looked the same since WoW's launch back in 2004. Recently, with various patches, Blizzard has slowly been updating the original roster of races that were available with the vanilla launch. The Dwarf, Gnome, Human, Night Elf, Orc, Tauren, Troll, Undead have all been overhauled, as has have the Draenei, who first made their appearance in The Burning Crusade expansion.

But there are still many left in need of a makeover. Yesterday, the newest Artcraft post went up to discuss the changes coming to the Blood Elf models. The BEs were also introduced in The Burning Crusade and offer a more svelte model to the usually brutish and leathery Horde faction.

"For the female specifically, something we did often was move things around in small but deliberate increments, to make sure everything was just right. It's the delicate details like her nose shape or fingertips that represent the most challenging parts of upgrading the female." said artist Dusty Nolting in the post.

She looks like an elf. Smoother, more detailed. She has joined the crew of 2014 at last.

The male model had a little less to upgrade but is still getting an improvement. "His anatomy, facial features, and hair will all get an update while still maintaining his iconic look, bringing him to the level of the other new character models." said Senior Artist Joe Keller.

Personally, I am awaiting the day we can make our characters pudgy or short or tall. Perhaps in another 10 years!

But, if they're bigger, how could they fit into all the sweet, sweet Tier 17 armor Blizzard has been showing off? That's right, they can't.

No specific date has been set for the updated character models to go live on servers.
