Hearthstone Goblins Vs Gnomes Card Preview: Steamwheedle Sniper Is A Hunter's Best Friend

The New Hearthstone Card Steamwheedle Sniper Will Have You Crying 'Hunter Is OP!' Once Again

Blizzard had a very busy Thanksgiving Weekend this year. Its major franchises were all on sale, no doubt hooking several new players to a lifetime of servitude towards the 'crafts and Diablos of this world.

Broken Age 2 Set For Next Year, Is Coming Along Beautifully And Swiftly

Blizz's latest, Hearthstone, showed off some of the new hotness you can expect to find in the upcoming expansion, Goblins vs Gnomes, too. The company has been letting players vote between two cards all month long. Players are shown only the accompanying picture and, much like high school prom, asked to pick the winner on looks alone.

The most recent winner is sure to bring back the traditional chant: Hunter is OP!

Game Of Thrones S5 Teaser Asks More Questions Than It Answers

Introducing Steamwheedle Sniper, a two cost, 2/3 Minion that modifies a player's Hero Power, stating "Your Hero Power can target minions."

Currently, the two cost Hero Power for hunters known as Steady Shot can only target other players. Which is a useful skill don't get me wrong, but the game is fought on the battlefield between minions and two damage skill can sometimes be better served by unleashing it on the minions.

Still, we must cry foul. Overpowered indeed!

The voting process was meant to end upon the reveal of this last card, however it appears Blizzard is keeping the public engaged with two new choices and my, are they doozies. The first is a human warrior atop a steed, possibly King Llane Wrynn (who was featured in the original Warcraft RTS games) or some other famed human commander. Second is what appears to be one of the giant eredar. I do not know who it is, though doubt it is either Kil'jaeden or Archinmonde. I could also be still in a turkey-induced coma and not know what I'm talking about.

Goblins vs Gnomes arrives this December.
