I Am Bread Release Date Announced In A New Gameplay Trailer, Hits Steam This Week

I Am Bread Will Flop Onto Steam Early Access On December 3

When the first trailer surfaced a little more than a month ago for I am Bread, it was easy to write it off as a pipe dream. Surely we would never actually be able to amble around a household as a sentient piece of bread. It was too much to ask. But now things have changed, and the game has risen from the fires of the development pool. I am Bread is very real, and it will be hitting Steam Early Access on December 3 as a very early holiday present to all mankind.

The Two New Pokèmon Games Are Making Some Serious Dough

The release date comes at the end of a new gameplay video that shows what changes have been made to the third-person bread action since we first laid eyes on it. The game now only includes an "Edibility" meter instead of the clearly redundant "Edibility" and "Deliciousness" meters. One thing that has been added, though, is a grip meter that limits how long your slice of bread can hold onto objects throughout the explorable house.

Though trying to assign an objective to a game like this is wholly unnecessary, it does seem to have some goals attached that players can pursue. Several objects can be found around the house that can toast your slice of bread, and two displays at the bottom of the screen let you know how toasted your bread is on each side. Of course, anyone can just hop into the toaster in the kitchen, but you can also improvise with straightening irons and hair driers. Other than that, you could always go searching for some butter or jelly to give your bread some extra character.

Godus Spreads To Android Phones

In I am Bread, the player controls an ambulatory slice of bread that can navigate by manipulating its four corners and briefly gripping on to objects. I am Bread is set to hit Steam Early Access in just a couple of days as the newest game from Bossa Studios, the developer that brought Surgeon Simulator into the world.

After so many games have tried to be the best thing since sliced bread, it's high time we cut out losses and just decide to become sliced bread itself.
