Board games are how you know who your true friends are. Video games are nice and all, but it's only in the IRL world of board games that you can really test your friendships. Plaid Hat Games (Summoner Wars, Bioshock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia) is set to release Specter Ops: Shadow of Babel so you can really test those boundaries between friend and foe.

Specter Ops is a tactical board game that is playable for 2-5 people. The game dumps you right into the middle of a shadow war. Your goal is to infiltrate a Raxxon facility as a single A.R.K. agent and retrieve three targets, doing all of this in secret.
On the other side of the table, you'll be tracked by two or more Raxxon hunters who know you're there. They mean to kill you because they're not your bros. Not anymore.

The Agent moves in secret and marks their movements only when they enter an enemy's line of sight. When the Hunter sees them, they can attack and do damage. If the Agent loses all their life points, game over man, game over.
Both sides come with four player options and extra customizations to create unique players and add extra depth to the game. The key however is still strategy. All the tricked out weapons in the world won't help a Hunter if he can never find the Agent.
The game won't be available for a few months, but it loooks like a dark science fiction-inspired romp, a good fit for n00bs as well as seasoned veterans of board games. Check Plaid Hat Games' site for more.
