HACK/SLASH Returns: Cassie Hack Comes Back To Comics In New Son Of Samhain Story

HACK/SLASH Returns With Brand New Storyline

HACK/SLASH is returning to the world of comics this coming January. The horror comic that follows Cassie Hack is getting a brand new story for the New Year with HACK/SLASH: Son of Samhain.

New Friday the 13 Movie Will Be All New Story

The Hack/Slash series follows Cassie Hack, daughter and only survivor of the Slasher, The Lunch Lady. Slashers are paranormal serial killers who are very hard to destroy. Think Chuckie, actually, Chuckie was featured in a comic crossover during the original run of the comic.  Cassie dedicated her life to ridding the world of Slashers, who she fought with sidekick Vlad.

Bloody Disgusting reports the new story will take place some years after the original run. She's left the life of a Slasher Hunter but is pulled back in when a nefarious cult attempts to unleash an evil on the world. She has a new partner and lives a different life than what fans are used to.

"A lot has changed for Cassie, and we're going to see her in a whole new way," says Michael Moreci, writer for the new book. "She's older here, more mature, and her life is shaded by everything she went through and what's happened to her in the intervening years."

The series may be continual depending on sales but right now, it's only set for a five issue arc to cover the Son of Samhain storyline. The new book will be written by Moreci and Steve Seeley with art by Emilio Laiso. Hack/Slash hits comic stores on January 14, 2015 and all other types of books stores January 27.
