Suicide Squad Movie Casting: Viola Davis To Take Role Of Amanda Waller

The Suicide Squad Has Found A Handler, Amanda Waller Cast

Suicide Squad has officially had most of its major roles filled by what is a star studded cast of good actors to play some seriously bad guys. One major role was not announced at the time the main characters were all released but finally, the role of Amanda Waller has been filled.

Real Life Disney Prince to Take On Role of Dream of the Endless for Upcoming Sandman Movie?

The very talented Viola Davis will taking the role of take no nonsense Prison Warden Amanda Waller in the upcoming movie according to Latino Review. Davis is currently starring in the uber-popular How To Get Away With Murder where she plays a legal professor.

Amanda Waller appeared back in 1986. She has no super powers, not incredibly wealthy and yet somehow manages to hold her own against some of the greatest heroes (and villains!) in the DC universe. She is a woman who is not to be trifled with. She is most often seen at odds with the heroes of the universe.

Suicide Squad Cast Much to Fans Delight

She's a morally gray character which is perfect for dealing with team composed entirely of super villains. The problem is of course not falling too far into the morally black area. In the comics, she acted as handler for the Squad.

Davis will have to work around her current Murder gig in order to make this work. Also considered for the role was Oprah Winfrey and to be honest, that probably would have been amazing. Just imagine Oprah talking to the Joker and Harley Quinn about their relationship.

Davis joins, Jared Leto, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie in the movie. Suicide Squad is set to release in the summer of 2016.
