12 Days Of Pottermore: New Gifts Include In Invitation to Party And Holiday Vampire Stories, Rowling Dismisses Snape Rumors

J.K.Rowling Sets The Record Straight About Snape

Pottermore is all decked out for the holidays. Fans of the wizard-themed website have been treated to new stories and other author penned treats over the last few days in accordance with the 12 Days of Pottermore Christmas. J.K. Rowling also puts to bed some rumors regarding a certain professor being a member of the undead.

Yesterday the treat was deceptively small. It seemed at first to just be a riddle but if you were disappointed, don't be. Turns out, it was actually an invite to Slughorn's Christmas party. Attending will open up the door to festive decorations, music and a magical party reveals Entertainment Weekly.

Also new for Pottermore members was a short piece titled Vampires. We already know that the undead inhabit the world of Rowling from the Defense Against Dark Arts classes. We don't actually get to see any however in the books. They probably don't sparkle though.

The short focuses on Sanguini, a vampire who once made an appearance at a Slughorn party. Nothing evil appears to have happened. Vampires like to have fun too.

Rowling also spilled that there was a vampire in her early ideas for the books named Trocar, but she didn't include him. Fans have theorized that Snape is a vampire but Rowling dispelled those rumors, "While it is true that he has an unhealthy pallor, and is sometimes described as looking like a large bat in his long black cloak, he never actually turns into a bat, we meet him outside the castle by daylight, and no corpses with puncture marks in their necks ever turn up at Hogwarts. In short, Snape is not a re-vamped Trocar."

You can get these and many more holiday gifts over at Pottermore.
