Far Cry 4 DLC Announced For January Release: 'Escape From Durgesh Prison' Puts Permadeath Into Kyrat
Ubisoft has finally announced details for the first major DLC pack for Far Cry 4, and it won't be an easy one to conquer. Not only will the DLC mission set you back by taking all your weapons and putting you on a clock, but it will force you to start the whole thing over if you die just once.
Escape from Durgesh Prison is a punishing challenge. It's responsible for introducing permadeath into the already harsh landscape of Kyrat, and it does it right after stripping you of all your weapons. In the mission, Ajay and Hurk are thrown into Yuma Lau's prison after being stripped of their firepower. Escaping the prison, then, is only one part of the job. Ajay and Hurk also need to complete side challenges in order to all your their back. Once you fel confident that you're at full power again, it's time to make your last stand against Yuma and her army.
You could play it safe and take your time with this challenge, but keep in mind that Escape from Durgesh Prison also puts players on a clock. The faster you complete the mission, the more chance you have of breaking into the top slots of the game's leaderboards.
This DLC mission pack can be tackled either solo or with a buddy. If you already have the Far Cry 4 season pass, you'll be able to download Escape from Durgesh Prison for no charge. If you didn't spring for the $29.99 extras bundle, though, you can pick up the permadeath challenge separately for $9.99.
Far Cry 4 is now available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
