New Salem TV Show Season 2 Trailer Shows The Start Of The 'Witch War'

Season Two of Salem Promises To Be As Intense As The First

Salem is coming back for season two and the second teaser trailer has been released proving that things are about to really heat up for the magic infested town. In the first teaser, Mary Sibley let us all know that it was time for a witch war. The second trailer affirms this.

Salem is entering into its sophomore season after a crazy freshman outing. The show focuses on the town of Salem, Massachusetts, most famous for burning some of its residents at the stake for made up accusations of witchcraft. People were bored in the 17 century. Although the show includes real people from the time period, the show itself is entirely fiction. Which should be clear from the rampant use of magic.

The show is a re-imagining of this time where the women were actually witches with magical powers, not bored teenagers who lied. The story follows Mary Sibley, head witch, as she manipulates and controls the people of the bustling town, including her ex-lover Captain John Alden.

The first season was a sexy, brutal show that took an entirely fresh look at the Salem Witch Trials and this season looks like it's going to be just as bloody and twisted. The show didn't just focus on the real world, it took viewers into the depths of the paranormal as they met with witches, demons, and their familiars.

The show is the first scripted feature for WGN America and will be coming back in April 2015 when it will run for a 13-episode season.
