Destiny Weekly Activity Guide: These Are The Missions And Objectives To Complete Between Each Content Reset

Destiny is a fairly complicated and game, with specific systems designed to require a lot of investment from the player. As more resources and currencies are added, it can be difficult to know what to focus on each week--but we're here to help you out.

The Interview Released Online Through YouTube, Google Play, And Xbox Video

The game resets on a weekly cycle: every Tuesday, you can do all of the activities again and be rewarded. Playing the same specialized content each week will only reward you once (except the Heroic Daily, which of course switches each day), so it's important to hit each worthwhile portion of the game from one Tuesday to the next. Here's the list of activities to complete each week:

Attack The Weekly Heroic And Nightfall Strikes

These are two similar missions combined into one, but they give you some of the best possible rewards each week. The Heroic Strike is the best source of Strange Coins in the game (more at higher difficulties) which are essential for buying exotics from Xur. The Nightfall Strike is an even more challenging version, with the level bumped to 30 and brutal modifiers switched on. Between the potential Legendary and Exotic gear rewards, Strange Coins, and Ascendant Material, you'll want to prioritize doing this missions. You will need a team as there's no matchmaking, unfortunately, which is the biggest hurdle aside from the level gate.

Complete The Raids

The ultimate end goals for Destiny, there are now two raids present in the game: The original Vault of Glass and The Dark Below expansion's Crota's End. You can be rewarded for each of them twice per week--once on normal and once on hard mode--though completing hard will give you the reward for normal, too, so that's preferable if you're able. Raids give out the best rewards, with exotic and legendary drops on tap. It's the only way to acquire raid gear, as well, which are the best armor and weapons in the game (Crota's End gear has sadly made that of the Vault of Glass' irrelevant, but weapons and materials still drop). Grab a team through an online finder if you have to, and make sure to run each at least once.

Shop At Xur

While not quite a mission like the others, Xur is an event unto himself. The mysterious merchant appears from Friday to Sunday, selling exotic weapons for Strange Coins and Motes of Light. He's only become more important after the update, since he can now upgrade exotics acquired pre-expansion, and not cashing out while he's visiting the Tower can slow your progress. Gather Strange Coins during the week between his visits, and spend on something useful when he arrives--there's a new stock every week.

Acquire Crucible And Vanguard Marks

Bungie limits the number of these currencies you can gather to 100 each every week, but you'll likely want to hit that cap. Vanguard Marks are rewarded for Patrol missions, Bounties, and playing the Vanguard playlist, while Crucible Marks are given for completing competitive multiplayer matches. They can each be spent at certain vendors in the Tower on special gear, and Vanguard Marks in particular have become important with The Dark Below--new gear can get you up and over level 30 in no time. Complete the aforementioned activities to gather up to 100 of these marks all week, and remember that you can only hold 200 at once--collecting more while full will put them to waste.

Play With Multiple Characters

Most people who have multiple characters probably know this, but you can be rewarded for the content mentioned above on each of your Guardians. Given that your characters all share a storage vault, this can be the fastest way to stockpile gear, currency, and resources for your main Guardian. Completing three Strikes each week, if you desire, will net you many more Strange Coins than just doing it once, so if you have the time, rinse and repeat.
