Described as "odd and compelling," a new digital adventure game called, The Cave, is headed to PC and consoles in early 2013. Sega and Double Fine Productions made the announcement of this game's release, today.
Each of the characters has their own special abilities and their own storyline that will unfold while they further explore the caverns. The Cave will support a local multiplayer option (which enables friends to take over controlling the second and third characters whenever they're onscreen) during this spelunking adventure. So, if you like exploring odd environments, the cave just might be for you. There are also puzzle-solving segments to keep the interest-level of the gamers up.
The company's other adventure game, Double Fine Adventure, raised over $3 million on Kickstarter, in less than24 hours. According to PC World, the creator of The Cave, Ron Gilbert, mentioned that his team has been working on this game for about a year.
The Cave will be released next year on Xbox Live, the Playstation Network and the PC.
