Fortune has an exclusive interview with Bob Iger, CEO of Walt Disney Company. Although their focus was mainly money matters, that didn't stop them from questioning how the company managed to get the shoots of Iger with the Millennium Falcon as well as how they created the machine in the new film.

The interview reveals some of what designers went through to create the cover images and inside images of the Falcon with Iger. It wasn't as simple as just a quick Photoshop job, they had to render different views of the ship that hadn't previously existed before they could even begin to splice the two images together.

The first glimpse at the ship actually came in the teaser trailer for the film where you see it in flight. The original was first seen in 1977 during the first Star Wars movie. It was piloted by Han Solo and his good buddy, Chewbacca. The ship had a reputation for not being much to look at but it sure was fast. Which was good because Han Solo was a criminal who was wanted by many people but Jabba the Hut wanted him most.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released in theatres on December 18, 2015.
