The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may have been delayed until May, but that isn't stopping the developers from letting everyone know their PCs are inadequate.

The recommended and required system specs have been released by CD Projekt Red, and likely only those with the highest end PCs are not worried at all by what they see. The processor requirements are pretty high, but most gaming rigs will probably be able to run the title at least somewhere in the middle.

Here are the specs, straight from the developers:

Minimum System Requirements

AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940

Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660

AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870

RAM 6GB

OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)

DirectX 11

HDD Space 40 GB

Recommended System Requirements

Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz

AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz

Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770

AMD GPU Radeon R9 290

RAM 8GB

OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)

DirectX 11

HDD Space 40 GB

Required specs most likely doesn't mean that the game won't run at all, but you'd have to expect needing to lower settings and resolton fairly significantly. Most players don't enjoy having to turn off bells and whistles or play at medium or low settings, but machines falling at or around the minimum should be able to at least play the game if thats what their owners desire. The choice is yours, which of course includes console alternatives.
