The first book in the new ongoing series picks up right after the destruction of the Death Star. Everyone is feeling right proud of themselves but just blowing up a moon sized military base isn't enough to stop the Empire.

People familiar with the original movies will recognize the storyline here. However, don't disregard the books just because you've seen the films, there are sure to be expansions to the story contained within the pages.

And in the world of Star Wars, everything is canon. Everything.

This is the first book put out by Marvel for Star Wars in 27 years. Although the company held the rights originaly and spent 10 years publishing the books, the rights went to Dark Horse Comics in the 90s and only recently returned to Marvel following Disney's acquisition.

The new series is coming at a time when the movie is also in the works to be released in the coming year as well as a popular television series, Star Wars Rebels.

The new comic is available in comic shops as well as online through ComiXology.
