Justice League Movie News: Old Man Green Lantern To Join Cast? [Rumor]

New Green Lantern May Be Vastly Different Than What Fans Are Used to

Green Lantern is still missing from the Justice League movie lineup. All other heroes are present and accounted for, except for the will powered super. Could this mean that he will not be in the new movie, or is it just an indication that the character will be going through some changes?

Amanda Waller Could Be The Link That Hold DC Movie-Verse Together

It would be a strange move not to include Green Lantern at all. He is one of the founding members of the Justice League. Instead, a recent rumor revealed by Tech Times seems much more likely.

Director Zach Snyder may have chosen to cast an older Hal Jordan, somewhere between the ages of 45 and 55. This would change the character drastically.

This possible move could be coming from a desire to distance the new films from the last Green Lantern movie, which was a disaster for so many reasons. Aging the character up could give the new movies a buffer from that without having to go through a full reboot which would essentially just tell the same story, but better.

A change like that would also create a new dynamic between the heroes. At that age he would have been in the game for some time and have a different perspective. He would likely be more cautious than the other younger heroes.

He could serve as a voice of reason for a group full of young and powerful upstarts.

The Justice League movie has no official release date but is rumored to be released sometime in 2017.
