Minecraft Pocket Edition Update Coming To Over 30 Million Phones

Big things are coming to the smallest Minecraft around. The team over at Mojang spent over an hour on a recent Q&A talking all things 'world's most popular game' because none of them have to work anymore. Well, actually, they outlined some of the upcoming changes happening in the version 0.11 update to Minecraft Pocket Edition.

Does It Feel Like The First Crota's End Hard Take Down Took Longer Than Normal?

The forthcoming update doesn't add any major overhauls, so you can put down the digital pitchforks. Pocket Edition will remain largely intact, but for a few small tweaks here and there. You can hear the whole 84 minute Q&A session, but if you're like most people, you don't have time for that.

Tomaso, Johan and Owen helmed people's question via the Twitch stream and in addition to patch notes, also hinted at more distant changes coming to Minecraft PE.

PAX South Preview: It Might Be Young, But It Will Be Mighty

So, here are best bits coming to the 30 million strong units of Minecraft floating out in the world.

Skins will be implemented in the coming version. You can choose between Alex, Steve, custom skins that you make yourself and future ones. Controller support will be coming...in the future, but no plans for a keyboard and mouse add-on. I mean, at that point, just get the regular game. And while Mojang hopes to add all possible factory-specific mechanics to Pocket Edition in the future, all the clever mods in the community will not be arriving.

The Mojang-specific server system Realms will also be utilized to run Pocket Edition in the future, though again, no specific date.
