American Horror Story Freak Show Spoilers: All The Connections Between The Seasons

American Horror Story Freak Show Connects To Previous Seasons In Surprising Ways

American Horror Story: Freak Show is all done and had many references to other seasons. Let's look at all the ways the seasons tied together.

American Horror Story: Freak Show Has Its Finale Curtain Call As The Season Ends

Show creator Ryan Murphy has already revealed that the seasons are all tied together (shared universe!), but these connections are subtle for the most part.

In the latest season we were given Pepper, the first character to appear in both seasons as herself. Pepper, Sister Mary Eunice, and Hans Gruper all tie into the connection between seasons.

Clues In American Horror Story Point To Possible Information On Next Season

Pepper and Sister Mary Eunice were both shown in their previous state, at the Asylum, with Pepper being given a super tragic back story. So tears. Many sad. Wow.

Hans Gruper was revealed to be the sadist who cut off Elsa's legs while she was still back in Germany. He is also the doctor that worked in Braircliff, and now we understand his obsession with BDSM.

There were also at least one less obvious tie in that actually spoke back to Coven. Chester Creb had a book printed in Detroit, where the only known African-American line of Salem Witches was known to be. This seems so small but it also would be strange for a detail like that not to mean something. Perhaps we'll get more information on that in the coming seasons.

Coven also ties into season one, as Madison Montgomery is a descendant of the Montgomerys who built Murder House.

Next season could see even more definite ties between seasons, as we already know there were hints to it in this past season. There's a high likelihood that we'll also be seeing more connections in season five with seasons 1-3.

Did anyone catch anything else?
