First Shot from Wreck-It Ralph Brings Arcade Nostalgia to Theaters

Wreck-It Ralph is something of a gamer nostalgia inception, since he never really existed back in the glory days of arcades, but we know his type. The huge brute that normally threw barrles and sent snakes after us as we kept leaping over them or--finally--got the power-up hammer. It's also the next film, following Brave, that Disney is banking on with our fond memories of the villain archetype.

Years later, Ralph is tired of being the villain in the fictional Fix-It Felix's world where he's doomed to repeat his wrecking ways. So he jumps over to a new, First Person Shooter and inevitably causes the release of a villain so terrible that he'll have to become the hero Disney needs him to be in order to have a plot device solved. Still, the impressive part may be who else shows up in cameo roles from our video game past.

Bleeding Cool ran this photo showcasing the stars of Q*bert and Ralph trying to win them over with some fruit. With a keen eye you can notice Chun-Li and Zangief off to the right, while heading back to Bleeding Cool you can barely make out M. Bison in the background. There'll also be cameos from Pac-Man, Resident Evil, Bowser and Dr. Robotnik from Sonic.

Having just heard about this, November 2nd can't get here fast enough.
