Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones News: David Tennant Cast As The Villain For New Netflix Show

David Tennant Will Be Playing The Villain In Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones

The creators of Marvel's AKA Jessica Jones are going to bring a whole new group of fans to the Netflix show. Whovians. Brace yourselves, as David Tennant is joining the cast of the coming Netflix Original.

Justice League Dark May Be Seeing The Big Screen Yet

Tennant is probably best known for taking on the role of the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. This new role will call on him to be a bit less heroic. Okay, a lot less heroic as he'll be playing the villain, Killgrave in the series as released by Marvel. A complete role reversal for the type of character we're used to seeing him as.

"He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He'll make Killgrave a truly original villain," Melissa Rosenberg, executive producer and showrunner said.

Netflix Has Released Its February Lineup With New Anime, Sci-Fi, and Horror

Tennant has also appeared in Broadchurch and Gracepoint which showed off some more of his acting chops.

Killgrave is also known as Purple Man which is a terrible codename but moving on. He releases some sort of pheromone that allows him to influence others. Which he uses to control people because he's a bad guy.

Also he's purple. Like, all of him. Hopefully that isn't kept in the show along with some of the more questionable parts of his origins.

Originally he was a Daredevil villain (I smell crossover!) but eventually ended up fighting against Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

Marvel's AKA Jessica Jones is a 13 episode original series made for Netflix. It will primer this year following Marvel's Daredevil.
