World Of Tanks Winter Showdown Update Brings Back Beloved 8-Bit Graphic Mode And New Tanks

World Of Tanks Is Kicking It Old School With The Winter Showdown Update, Adding 8-Bit Graphics!

Just in time for the bitter talons of January, Wargaming has released the new Winter Showdown update for World of Tanks today.

New Original Zelda Speedrun Record

The update radically changes the look and feel of the free to play tank simulator by redesigning the game with Minecraft-esque 8-bit graphics. Along with the graphical overhaul, Winter Showdown includes three new exclusive tanks - all appropriately named for the season: the powerful Mammoth heavy tank, the fearsome Polar Bear tank destroyer, and the nimble Arctic Fox light tank.

Players can scurry through snow-capped peaks and hills with four of their closest friends (or at least, neutral strangers) as the member cap for new mega platoons is now set at five instead of the standard three.

In Vainglory, Ardan Will Dig Two Graves

The new mode also offers different game setups for players to choose from including two mega platoons vs. two mega platoons and 10 vs. 10 in random battles.

Players who display great courage or command, or balls to the wall chutzpah, can receive the exclusive Operation Winter medallion, which not only is very shiny but can also repair your allies in the middle of a fight and get them back into it.

Winter Showdown is available on North American World of Tanks servers from now until an unspecified time in the future, and if you're reading this, you're probably in some snowy hell already, so you may as well drive a tank in it.

Sign up for World of Tanks right now and start playing. It will cost you nothing but time, and I'm sure you have a lot of that already.
