World Of Tanks Xbox 360 Update Adds Pacific Campaign, Includes Exclusive Map And New Tank

When I think of the Pacific campaign of World War II, I think of beautiful rolling hills set against an endless azure sea, all of which is on fire. The serenity inherent to the scene is shattered with frenzied fighting and explosions, where islands are taken inch by inch by foot soldiers unceremoniously killed and forgotten.

What one does not normally associate with the Pacific theater are tanks. Rest assured though, tanks were present and Wargaming, purveyor of the popular sim World of Tanks, wants you to know that.

The latest update to World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition adds a console-exclusive new map, Pacific Island and a famed Japanese tank, the Chi-Nu Kai.

World Of Tanks Grand Finals Taking Place This April

The Pacific Island map is filled with hills and underbrush, a verdant oasis that hides a battlefield ripe for destruction. You can check out how the Wargaming team created the new map via an official blog post.

"The iconic Japanese Chi-Nu Kai medium tank, rolls out to Tier 5. In real life, the Chi-Nu Kai was reserved primarily for defense in the event of an Allied invasion of Japan, but tankers can take it on the offense and blaze a trail to glory. This tank boasts one of the largest cannons in the Japanese tank arsenal, perfect for storming across any map and meeting your foes head-on." But hurry quickly, the Chi-Nu Kai is only available until 11:59 p.m. PST on February 8.

The update comes free to all players of World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition. Players who do not have an Xbox Live Gold account can now try the game out for a seven day free trial.
