The Wall Street Journal has reported that Netflix and Nintendo are in talks to create - I kid you not - a live action Legend of Zelda tv series.

I'm going to give you two minutes to respond appropriately. Come back to me when you've calmed down. I'll wait.

Okay, you good? There are few other details to report beyond "Netflix is said to be working closely with Nintendo."

Given the recent success of Netflix limited series - House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black - and the moderate success of swashbuckling epic Marco Polo, if true, this would be a great move for both Nintendo and Netflix. There is a dearth of accessible fantasy program on television, and while Game of Thrones reigns supreme over literally everything else in the televised world, wouldn't it be nice to have a fantasy adventure with characters who aren't sonsofbitches? And maybe, just maybe, have the good guys win?

We have enough grim and grittiness. Let there be a little bit of light in the land of Hyrule.

I'm thinking of something a bit like Legend of the Seeker that ran on ABC for a few seasons. Adventure, daring, a great villain and very strong female character. Plus, it's all about a sword, really.

Even if not true, and who is to say at this point, if Netflix could grab the rights to the animated Legend of Zelda series that ran for just one season back in the 80s, I would be most happy.

Spokespeople for both Netflix and Nintendo declined to comment on the original WSJ story.

Of course, when and if they make this, they'll absolutely need to include this:
