Battlefield Hardline Beta: Limited Trial Period Serves More Than 5 Million Players
The Battlefield Hardline beta, if you were wondering about player interest in Visceral Games' new take on the series, was played by more than five million people.
Visceral Games General Manager Steve Papoutsis tweeted the news earlier today, as Polygon reported, expressing his contgratulations to the team and asking players to keep the feedback coming.
This mark passes the record set by Destiny last year, Bungie's online shooter that has sold millions of units since launch. Destiny, unlike Battlefield Hardline, is not available on PC.
Battlefield Hardline takes the traditional military setup of the series and turns it into a cops vs robbers shooter, with a variety if objective-based game modes offering different style of gameplay. There's the one-sided capture the flag mode Heist, a mode about stealing and controlling vehicles (Hotwire), and a standard point-control and deathmatch mode Conquest.
Battlefield Hardline will launch on March 17 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
