The First 'Hitman: Agent 47' Trailer Has Arrived And The Movie Has To Be Better Than The Original, Right? [VIDEO]

The New Hitman: Agent 47 Trailer Has Arrived And There's No Way It's As Bad As The Original Movie...Right?

FOX has released the first official trailer for their upcoming reboot, Hitman: Agent 47 and the results are...loud.

Asteroids: Outpost, The Grim 'N' Gritty Remake

Rupert Friend, who you may know as badass assassin Peter Quinn in Homeland, takes up the mantle as badass assassin Agent 47 and 'badasses' his way through action scene after action scene. He even gets a cool Rorsharch-esque line about being 'being trapped in here with me.'

Watching the trailer, I got a very large sense of déjà vu for one of the most disappointing movies of the last several years: Ninja Assassin, in which we follow this really cool grim killer, but spend far too much time with the boring police officers and supporting cast than is necessary.

Action junkies and fans of the series should hopefully be satisfied. This is director Aleksander Bach's first film, and the trailer reveals little in the way of personality at this moment. A lot of wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. I guess we'll see later.

Mostly, I'm just bitter that FOX did not take my viral audition process seriously. I had been laying the foundation for years, dressing up as Hitman and for what? To be replaced by some incredibly handsome and talented guy? What madness is this? Not to mention the fact that I was not even asked to star in this bizarre little video. People!

While the new trailer leaves us cold, we have to believe that the film itself will be ten times better than the Timothy Olyphant led 2007 adaptation. The inclusion of Ciaran Hinds as the Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer stand-in, Agent 47's creator, all but guarantees a seat.

Hitman: Agent 47 debuts in theaters this August 28.
